Singlehood

I like the book. It has a good message overall. However, what I wish books like these would emphasize on the great opportunities that come with being single and how to cope with the possibility of being single for a lifetime. I may sound like a pessimistic, but I'm tired of focusing wholeheartedly for something that may not be God will for my life. I just want to genuinely enjoy my life without worrying about my future marital status. I hope to have a family on my own. However, this pass year I asked myself how I would I cope with life if I found myself still single ten years down the road despite all my best efforts. I've been single for long time and know others in my same position.It hurt to realize that there a possibility I will never get married. I don't believe in running away from things. So I am looking for books that not prepare you for new husband but also allow you to accept the present. I would like to hear from people who wanted to get married but found themselves single for most of their adult life. I want to hear how they coped with the disappointment of not getting married.

He Had Me at the "Ruth and Boaz" Story!!!

"God Where Is My Boaz?" written by Stephan Labossiere is a well written, easy to read book that emphasizes the simple approaches and positioning a woman should take when awaiting her "Boaz". I actually bought the book to encourage a friend. She had just given herself yet another dose of "Ithinkhesmyhusbanddate" which lead to sex, followed by a big gulp of disregard and disrespect the morning after; all because she was anxious and moving too fast. It was seeing her regret, hurt and disappointment that prompted me to read it as well. Honestly, because.....I too was getting pretty anxious and needed to slow myself down!!! ;-)
I really enjoyed reading the book. It had a straightforward interpretation and simple breakdown of the "Story of Ruth and Boaz" that was easier to relate to than the ones I've heard before. The author explained how Ruth positioned herself to work in the fields with an expressed purpose, way before Boaz acknowledged her. And because Boaz was a man with character and integrity himself, he recognized the same in Ruth. That's why he held her in HIGH Regard!!! "A match made in Heaven." Well, that was all I needed to "hear" to stay encouraged, focused and busy while I await the "Boaz" God has for me.
I really do believe Boaz and Ruth would also approve of this book too. It depicts a true and practical account of their "Love Story". I highly recommend this book to men and woman alike; to use as a guide to properly position ourselves while in the preparation stages to receive our very own "Ruth or Boaz".
I've already recommended and sent the link to my sisters, nieces and friends......you should too.

Glad A Friend of Mine Recommended!

After a friend of mine learned of my new journey of celibacy she gave me the book Not Tonight: My Worth is Far Above Rubies as a jump start and God Where Is My Boaz: A woman's guide to understanding what's hindering her from receiving the love and man she deserves, MAN was this a perfect pairing! Going into this new journey learning of remaining pure, and how to date and pursue relationships the way God intends can be tough and so glad there are down to earth writers like these two! It was an easy read just as Not Tonight and so relateable! I've heard of the Boaz and Ruth story many times but it truly gave me a different aspect of it! Its sad to say, but many of us women don't realize that its truly us getting in the way of our Boaz finding us! No more blaming men! Maybe its just US! Thank you Stephan for this book! Its so great to see its so many resources out there for women trying to do things God's way and getting a man's perspective on things! Definitely going to keep his tips in mind so I will be prepared to receive the love God has intended!
